Eurosmart announces new President: John Boggie

The Board of Eurosmart announced on Friday, 10 March during a general assembly meeting, the nomination of John Boggie as new President of Eurosmart.

John takes over Alban Feraud’s (IDEMIA) position and will continue Eurosmart’s activities to represent the view of the digital security industry in relevant digital policies and standards.

John Boggie is Head of Cybersecurity Certification in the Central Security Technology Center at NXP. John has a long relationship with Eurosmart he was a member of ISCI and ITSC starting in 2006 and became the Director of ISCI from 2013-2018, in 2018 he joined the Eurosmart board representing NXP semiconductors, John has been an active member of Eurosmart board. John explains:

“I am very excited to take over the presidency of Eurosmart. As a trusted partner within the EU, Eurosmart is regularly asked to comment on legislation and standards developed by the commission. The most important aspect of Eurosmart is the vastly experienced diverse membership. In Europe we are seeing a lot of new Cybersecurity regulations being written. I would like Eurosmart to work together with other technology expert groups to ensure that the legislation being written is based on solid technological principles, ensuring that EU systems and EU citizens are protected from malicious actors.”

The general assembly members also appointed two rotating board members: Ms. Anne-Lise Thieblemont (Qualcomm) and Ms. Claire Loiseaux (Internet of Trust). The full composition of the board of Eurosmart is available on our webpage.
