- Security of mobile devices, applications and transactions
- Smart Embedded Security for the Internet of Things
- Digital Identity and Access management for cloud based services

Eurosmart confirmed the dynamism and ambition of the Smart Security Industry

During its General Assembly on 25th of April in Brussels, Eurosmart confirmed the dynamism of the Smart Security Industry with positive market figures, new members and an ambitious action plan for 2012-2013.

Members elected a new Bureau for the coming year :
- Oyvind Rastad (Gemalto) elected as Chairman;
- Dr. Jochen Schöllmann (Giesecke & Devrient) reelected as Vice-Chairman for a second mandate;
- Jérôme Ajdenbaum (Oberthur Technologies) elected as Vice-Chairman;
- Sonja Gatzke (Infineon Technologies) newly elected as Treasurer.
Eurosmart Reference Paper on biometrics
The Reference Paper "Smart Biometrics for Trust and Convenience - Analysis of use cases and best practice recommendations" aims at examining the use of biometrics in some well identified cases where biometrics is used for verification of identity and authentication of individuals. The document points out the benefits, risks and drawbacks that can arise, but also the solutions and good practices that shall be put in place.
The use cases that Eurosmart selected are both from the public sector (border control and domestic identity verification, eGovernment services, eHealthcare) or from the private sector (eCommerce, payment, physical and logical access control) and led to conclusions and policy recommendations.
Eurosmart presents its smart secure devices shipments at Cartes Asia
Eurosmart took part to the Cartes in Asia 2012 conference, on 28-29 March 2012 in Hong Kong.
The Conference opened with the Asian Card Summit (28 March from 10am on) gathering top-executive from leading companies of the smart technology industry. Benoît Makowka presented Smart Card Trends & Forecast on behalf of Eurosmart. More than 250 top executives attended his presentation and a panel discussion.
NFC - Eurosmart article in the ICMA magazine
Eurosmart Vice Chairman and convenor of M&T Working Group Oyvind Rastad published an article on NFC in the last publication of the International Card Manufacturers Association (ICMA).
This article entitled "NFC - Ensuring security before going mainstream" notably stresses that commercial NFC services will happen as soon as the key players of the value chain agree on a business model where each player gets their rightful share of the major impact that is making smartphone a transactional tool commonly used in our daily lives.
Eurosmart presentation at SDW 2012

Eurosmart will take part to the Security Document World 2012 conference, on 21-23 May 2012 in London. Ingo Liersch from Eurosmart eID Working Group will make a presentation entitled "All-time high for Government ID - What are the drivers? It will be part of the stream "The future of Personal Identity"; it will take place on Tuesday 22 May 2012 at 4:20pm
